Futuro Remoto 2015

Naples, Piazza del Plebiscito — October 2015

The objects designed by the students of the Industrial Design Studio were exhibited at Futuro Remoto, in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, in October 2015.

The brief was university merchandising. Almost every university in the world has a catalogue of it, from Harvard to the Politecnico di Milano, and almost all of them solve it the same way: put the logo on mugs, T-shirts, pens and umbrellas. The whole communication rests on the mark, not on the quality of the object.

The students were asked for the opposite: to design a single-material object, in Corian®, that carried a value of its own — and that would stand up even without a logo on it.
