A single worktop with hob and sink integrated, in a house of classical plan
A large island with a white DuPont™ Corian top: a flush induction hob, a sink area and a generous working surface, all cut from one continuous top that turns the corner and carries on along the wall.
The challenge of a top this long is precisely continuity: no commercial sheet covers those dimensions on its own, so the top is made of several parts. Bonded and sanded to the DuPont™ protocol, the joints disappear: running a hand along it you cannot feel where one piece ends and the next begins.
The setting is interesting: the house has a classical plan, with landscape wallpaper, wall lights and framed doors. The matt white Corian does not jar — on the contrary, it acts as a neutral background and lets the room speak.

How it is built
The sheets are shaped, the openings for hob and sink cut on CNC machinery, then everything is bonded and sanded. Sanding is the last stage and also the longest: that is where the joints disappear and the surface takes on the velvety touch typical of Corian.
