Corian® outdoor table

White Corian outdoor table on a terrace by the sea

Corian outdoor table

One top, one base, and the sea in front

This is the table we are asked for most often. It stays outdoors all year round, on a terrace looking over the sea: sun, salt air, swings in temperature. DuPont™ Corian stands up to it, because it is not porous and has no joints for water to get into.

The shape is reduced to essentials: a rectangular top and a single central base, with the top cantilevering out on both sides. No legs at the corners, so you sit where you like and knock into nothing.

Made for Laura Panariello. Design, production and installation by Arco Arredo — arch. Ezio Colombrino.

The table

What you do not see

Three seconds of the finished table, two seconds of the top opened up in the workshop.

The finished table and its internal structure, in sequence

A top like this, with long cantilevers and a single support at the centre, cannot be a solid slab: it would weigh too much and would sag in time. The top is therefore built: a metal perimeter frame, internal Corian ribs carrying the surface, and the sheet bonded on top.

The thick edge you see from outside is not the thickness of the material: it is the side that closes the structure. After bonding, everything is sanded, and no trace of the joints remains.

Would you like one?

It is made to measure: the length is decided by the terrace, not by a catalogue. Corian comes in dozens of colours.
